I always give first priority for on the page seo before going out for the off the page. And the title is the most important because it will appear in search page and I want to give to the point info for my visitor. So in a way, title is very important.

First of all great post..I kind of agree with you but in my mind its all about a balancing act…For SEO the title tag is extremely important so if you are targeting certain keywords then it is essential that you put it in there..however as you rightly point out it is all about the visitors as well, you want them to click and visit your blog, website etc…Its all about balance thanks…

I agree with most of your points, except for keeping the titles short. There are many successful sites and blogs that use long titles to thoroughly describe their post – DoshDosh being an excellent example.
