Solving Problems in Your Online Business

Written by Ryan Ambrose  · December 30, 2008

Problems are pandemic, and sooner or later, you’re going to get hit with one. Possibly even more than one, because not only are they pandemic, but they’re rude pests that do things on their own time. When the Internet was created, the pesky things even decided to change with the times and move online. In fact, they were probably out here first.

They’ll hit your online business too. Fortunately, there are a few simple things you can use to keep their damage to a minimum.

  • If you see the potential for a problem, fix it then. It’s a lot easier to take preventative measures and not suffer a problem at all than to let one hit you. You might not be able to do this all the time, but you should do it in the times that you can.
  • Don’t make mountains out of molehills. Small problems are just that, and you’ll have enough real mountains to deal with sooner or later. Solve the small problems, but don’t stress over them.
  • Panic solves nothing. In fact, it’s one of the most counterproductive things you can do. Problems happen, so resist the urge to panic.
  • Sometimes, a problem might force a change in your online business. An example of this is a business model that doesn’t quite fit your circumstances anymore. If that happens, change what you need to change, and get back on the horse.
  • Your business is made up of assets. However, no single asset is your business, so don’t fall in love with one because someday, it might become a problem asset. Problem assets need to go away if you want to make money online. It’s not pleasant to pull them down, as I learned from personal experience, but sometimes it’s just what you have to do.

Problems are everywhere. Unfortunately, they can’t be baited into mousetraps with cheese, which makes them really annoying. However, if you keep these tips in mind, they can make solving your online business problems a bit easier.

Every time when the problem is arising, the first thing we need to do is calm down and don’t freak like the maniac! There will be solutions for every problem, as long as we stay calm…

Great tips! The worst thing anyone can do during a situation is panic. Problems in online business are often created when people spend too much time worrying about getting everything perfect. Nothing will ever be perfect or go smoothly. We just have to learn to keep moving forward with our online business, otherwise nothing would get accomplished.

These points are certainly applicable to all aspects of life. For a personal reason, I have been motivated by your line that says “Panic solves nothing”
