I agree with this 100%. Confidence plays an important role in being successful in nearly everything people do. I believe everyone has the ability to warp their own reality with the way they think. Positive/Optimistic/Confident minds create positive results.

George, really like this post.

It’s the same as when you’re speaking to someone in person, if you sound unsure about what you’re saying it’s going to come across. You could be absolutely right, but someone more confident saying the wrong thing will often be believed.

I like your follow-up to Sam as well, everyone makes mistakes and people appreciate when someone admits they’re wrong.

It’s next to impossible to please everyone with what you say, so it has to be what you believe (even if it changes). An air of confidence should come across by doing this alone

Excellent post George. I have noticed this confidence factor too. The best bloggers post with confidence, but also provide useful accurate information. Confidence on its own is not enough, but confidence allied with nonsense is not so good either. There is a lot of that sort of confidence in the stockmarket !

Being confident really works miracles. And the best part here is that it’s actually a self-feeding cycle:

1. You write confidently and with bold statements
2. People like your writing
3. You feel great
4. You feel confident
5. People like your writing even more

When I discovered this fact about confidence, I realized it was something I needed to improve in my own writing.

It is ok to use the word “usually” sparingly, but if you are using the word in every post you should find stronger words to express your thoughts with in the future.

Great advice! I love how practical it was. After looking back over a few of my own posts, I can certainly spot a few uses of words like “usually.”

I’m not sure that that’s about confidence, as much as it is a fail-safe. Every situation is unique, so if you give advice about blogging, it may not apply to every situation. I say “usually,” to cover myself for those situations.

Do you think that that’s alright still, or would you still think I was just unsure?

We all make mistakes and it’s even ok to admit them on your blog!

However, when you admit your mistakes you need to so with an air of confidence. Confidence isn’t the opposite of humility.

In my humble opinion, some may disagree with your stance that bloggers should be confident. You should probably maybe consider that some people don’t know all the answers and should probably not risk being wrong about something.

This is just my very humble opinion on what you should maybe consider about confidence. Understand this is not necessarily my view.
