When I started my first blog I had no knowledge of blogging. However, I was doing on page work as well as link building work. That time I had no clear view for my blog. I was changing my site keywords and content mostly. But later I read a blog to learn basic blogging. Then I make a clear view and targeted best keywords and topic for my blog. Changing your POV will definitely cost you your readers. They've probably followed your blog because they liked your writing style, or the way you talk about things in a positive (or negative, or humorous, or informative..the list can go on and on) manner.
