Overture Search Term Suggestion Tool Is Dead?
Written by George Manty · January 30, 2007
For the past week, I have been trying to use the Overture Search Term Suggestion Tool and haven’t been able to get the site to come up. So I did a search today and sure enough, other people are having the same problem. It looks like Yahoo is phasing it out.
Here are a couple of places I found that are talking about it:
Now, I will have to decide whether to use a different free tool for quick keyword research or whether or not to go ahead and shell out some money for a monthly membership with wordtracker (aff), nichebot, etc.
That’s a bummer, because I really liked using the Overture Search Tool. Oh well…

I have had the same problem as you with yahoo’s keyword suggestion tool. That tool has not worked properly for the last couple of months. I almost never got results the first time around. I got so sick of those cgi errors when running a keyword search.
There is good news though. Wordtracker just launched a free keyword suggestion tool that allows you to search a keyword up to 100 terms deep. I read about it over at seobook.com
You might want to go check it out before buying a subscription with them.
Thanks for the heads up on that. I will write an update post in a few minutes.
And here is the KeywordDiscovery.com – Free keyword research tool. A great free alternative for the Overture tool.
Gives the top 100 results per search from a 35 Billion keyword database.

Cool, I will take a look at it.
