Free Viral Tell A Friend Script

February 28, 2007

I am just starting to catch up on my email and I noticed someone selling a viral tell-a-friend script and someone else giving the same functionality away for free. So I thought I would let you know about the free viral tell-a-friend script. It is by Scott Boulch (Death of Adsense author). You can click here to get Scott’s free viral tell-a-friend script.

I haven’t tried it, but it looks interesting. I may use it to help build my next email list.

Warning: Scott uses some colorful language when describing his tell-a-friend script.

World’s Oldest Blogger is 107 Years Old

February 27, 2007

I managed to catch another flu bug this weekend, so I haven’t had much time to blog. However, my brother sent me this interesting article about the world’s oldest blogger that I thought I should share. According to the article:

OLIVE RILEY HAS has been declared the world’s oldest bogger, having begun to bog at the ripe old age of 107.

I guess that proves it’s never too late to start your own blog…

February 26, 2007

My wife Jill told me about this really interesting site called I think it is a very unique way to help people in developing nations. To explain what they do I thought I would share this from their website:

Kiva lets you connect with and loan money to unique small businesses in the developing world. By choosing a business on, you can “sponsor a business” and help the world’s working poor make great strides towards economic independence. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive email journal updates from the business you’ve sponsored. As loans are repaid, you get your loan money back.

Anyway, you can check out their site by clicking here.

BlogWoods – MyBlogLog Look a like?

February 23, 2007

I just came across a MyBlogLog look a like, called BlogWoods. Now, we have SpicyPage, MyBlogLog, LinkAndBlog and BlogWoods. Who knows how many more blogging communities are on the way.

I am interested to see how all of them evolve. I am also interested to see how many more of these social networking communities for bloggers come out.

Three Simple Steps To Making Money Online

February 22, 2007

Last May I wrote a post called the Key to Making Money Online. After writing it I realized there was an important factor missing from my equation – effective monetization. Given that missing ingredient, here are the three simple steps you need to take to make money online.

1. Produce Quality Content
If your site has good conent people will like it. Whether it be video games, educational materials, product reviews, news, etc. Producing quality conent is the first step to making money online.

2. Get Quality Links
If your site has good content, that is a great start. However, you must get visitors to your site. You have to let your target audience know about it and get quality links to your site. There are many ways to get links to a site. Having a site that is worth linking to (step 1) really makes this process easier.

3. Monetize It
It goes without saying that you have to monetize your site to make money online. There are many ways to monetize a site, ie. Affiliate Marketing, pay-per-click advertising, selling your own products or services, text link ads, etc. This is the missing step from my original formula. I guess I overlooked it, because back then I took it for granted. Now, I see that you should never take monetization for granted, because you can almost always find a way to make more money with your current traffic. I will discuss monetization methods more in the future.

So here is my original formula:

Here is the new formula:

It’s really quite simple when you think about it.

Web Video Marketing Webcast Today

February 21, 2007

I am still a bit under the weather, but I thought some of you might be interested in this.

Today, Feb. 21st at 8pm EST the first Internet Marketer I ever heard do a teleseminar (Alex Mandossian) and two of his partners are holding a live webcast.

They are going to reveal why web-audio and web-video, when combined with special list-building strategies are the secret to so many successful online businesses.

Of course, they are going to be giving a product pitch as well. They are going to be pitching one years worth of access to Audio Generator (AG), Instant Video Generator (IVG) & Marketing Makeover Generator (MMG), for the price of one.

Anyway, you can find the details about the webcast by clicking here.

What Would You Like To See Most?

February 19, 2007

I have been under the weather this weekend (still am), so I have some catching up to do once I get better.

In the meantime, I have been thinking about adding a regular weekly tip to this blog. I wanted to know what weekly tip you would like to see most on this blog, so I created a new poll:

What topic would you like me to do a weekly tip on?

1. Blogging
2. Affiliate Marketing
3. Website Traffic
4. Blog Traffic

If you would like to see me do a weekly tip on something else, please let me know in the comments.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to vote.

update: Forgot to mention, the poll is on the right side navigation bar.

Review of Chris Garret’s Free Ebook – Killer Flagship Content

February 16, 2007

Chris Garret (formerly of Performancing) has written a free ebook that he is giving out if you subscribe to his blog. Here are my thoughts on the book…

I didn’t expect the ebook to be as in depth as it was. I am always surprised when a free ebook offers such detailed information about a subject.

The thing I found most useful is the section where Chris reveals how to promote your flagship content. I think that most people will also find his list of instant flagship content creation ideas to be extremely useful.

Overall, I found the book to be an excellent look into creating and promoting killer flagship content. The book is easy to read and easy to understand. It is definitely worth checking out.

I highly recommend you go sign up to get Chris Garret’s free ebook by clicking here and following the instructions.

Blog Flipping And Site Flipping – Would you do it?

February 15, 2007

The other day ESPN bought a sports blog called truehoop. Henry Abbot (the owner) will continue to write for it as usual, but now he will be getting paid by ESPN and have special privleges like attending the NBA Allstar game in person. Pretty Cool!

Click here to read the story on the truehoop blog.

For a lot of people, having their business or blog bought by a big company is a great accomplishment. It certainly helps most people financially.

One of Austin’s friends, Keith Baxter does some site flipping and it pays him well. I have thought about getting into that business, but once I build a site worth flipping I am not sure I would want to flip it. I guess if I made sites on topics I wasn’t that interested in I would want to flip them. But do I really want to build a site on a topic that doesn’t interest me?

Maybe if I could make a million dollars a year it would be worthwhile…

Don’t Be Boring!

February 14, 2007

I am done creating anything that is boring on the Internet (well mostly done). I can’t think of one blog or website that I visit on a regular basis that I consider to be the least bit boring.

Whenever I get bored with a website or blog, I stop visiting it.

One of my BIGGEST goals in 2007 and beyond is to be remarkable, and to NOT BE BORING!

You should make it one of your goals too! Stop being boring! Nobody cares about boring websites except their owners. Just stop it!

Be remarkable, Be exciting, Be interesting, Be unique, Be everything you want to be, but…
