wow, this is a good hit on reality reminder. This article is so bang on what priorities.
I remember reading a tip from another blog saying spend 10% writing and 90% promoting. Until you get a deceint flow of traffic I think this is the best advice for a blogger or any website owner for that matter.

Ah, for a blog like mine, you can generate all your traffic from forum posting alone if you like. They can be time-wasters though, so I know what you mean. Our how-to is up as well if you'd like to check it out!!

Nice post! I found those steps helpful, especially about cutting down on what I call “information intake.” Every now-and-then I try to delete a few feeds from my feed list or stop reading some websites (especially ones like Fark or BoingBoing).

I stopped watching the news and reading newspapers too..i get that online now in a quick glimpse at the top news…besides the news on tv is so depressing these days!

As far as blogwonga it looks interesting. I really never intend on charging for my blog content, so I am not personally interested in it at the moment. I might consider it if I ever decide to start a membership site. I am not thrilled by the use of pounds instead of dollars. Being from the US, I don’t know off the top of my head what the conversion from pounds to dollars is.

While it is possible to make money blogging, it takes time. Also, it takes picking the right niche, and promoting it well. It’s not easy, but it can be a fairly inexpensive way of making money online.
