Focusing on my Wife’s websites

November 28, 2005

For the rest of the year, my primary focus is going to be on expanding my wife and her friend’s business websites. I added one new page today that my wife wrote ( .

I have a fairly long list of things to accomplish for their sites, so that should keep me busy. I also hope to make a few changes to my sites and also test out the Affiliate Classroom.

Additionaly, I added Chitika eMiniMalls on their websites:

So far the Chitika eMiniMalls are not performing nearly as well as Google Adsense does on their websites. I have had much better results on my sites, but overall I do think it is worthwhile testing Chitika eMiniMalls out. Yesterday, I added Chitika eMiniMalls to a couple of their higher traffic pages , so we will see what happens over the next couple of weeks.

I am very pleased with the results that I am getting on my dinosaur site ( with Chitika eMiniMalls. It appears as though I will want to keep the eMiniMalls up and running on the dinosaur site for a long time to come.

Huge Price Cut on my Website Promotion Book

November 27, 2005

I want to give you some exciting news.

I have decided to slash the price of my Website Promotion Book from $37 all the way down to the low, low price of $9.95!

Considering that this book is jam-packed with proven techniques to drive HUGE amounts of traffic to your site, it is a tremendous bargain at only $9.95.

Why did I cut the price of my book so much?

The driving force behind the bargain price is that I really do want to help other people succeed. Lowering the price of my book will help more people to get hold of my book and still allow me to make a profit. It’s a win/win situation. Helping people who are scared of spending more than $10 on an ebook learn how to get traffic to their site is well worth it to me.

Click here to go get my book now at this great bargain price!

Make a Million Dollars

November 22, 2005

The other night I finished listening to a free teleseminar that Yanik Silver held for all of us who have signed up to be on his Underground Online Seminar Mailing list. It was excellent. Much different than what you normally hear from marketing gurus.

I recommend signing up to be on Yanik’s mailing list now so that you don’t miss out on any more of these free seminars.

Also, I wanted to share with you an excellent article that I just came across. The article is written by the man who created howstuffworks. Check out “How to Make a Million Dollars” by clicking here now. It is a really good read.

That’s it for now.

Chitika tricks, tips – Advice from my testing

November 20, 2005

I have spent the last ten days testing out Chitika eMiniMalls and the results are pretty good. I have seen very similar results to what other webmasters have been reporting.

My Google Adsense earnings were not affected on the pages I placed Chitikita eMiniMalls on. So on the pages I added Chitikita eMiniMalls I pretty much doubled my profits. Some people have reported seeing their Adsense revenue fall on pages with both Adsense and Chitikita eMiniMalls, but they were reporting an increase in total profit because of the combined earnings of Adsense and the Chitikita eMiniMalls.

My feeling is that using Chitika eMiniMalls in combination with Google Adsense is the way to go for most content sites, although some product focused sites may do better with only Chitikita eMiniMalls.

Here are a couple of tips and tricks I learned during the last ten days of using Chitikita eMiniMalls:

1. Ads above the fold perform WAY better then ads below the fold.

Placing an ad above the fold means to place the ads on your web page where they can be seen without scrolling down. Ads towards the bottom of your page (below the fold) don’t work nearly as well. This is the case with Adsense as well as Chitikita eMiniMalls and comes as no surprise.

2. Choose keywords that are relevant.

I tested some ads using less relevant, higher paying items and they got fewer clicks than the ads that I created using relevant keywords. The more relevant keywords paid off better, because more people clicked on them. This is what one would expect, but I tested it just to make sure. So when selecting keywords for your Chitikita eMiniMalls ads make them as relevant as possible. For instance, if you have a website about video games and you choose the keyword “baby shower” in your ad, you will not make nearly as much money.

3. Make sure the Chitikita eMiniMalls blend into your site.

The ads should not be all over the page and should look nice on your site. This is just a general rule of advertising. People aren’t going to click on ads that are all over the place.

4. Ads on product pages perform better.

I have read in quite a few places that Chitikita eMiniMalls ads placed on product pages perform better than ads placed on non-product pages and my testing indicated this was true. However, I did get good results on high traffic non-product based pages as well, just not as good as on the product related pages.

If you run a content based site, I highly recommend checking out Chitika eMiniMalls. I am very pleased with the results that I am getting. Having Chitikita eMiniMalls on my site is helping me to make more money online without much more work.

Adsense Alternative – Chitika eMiniMalls

November 10, 2005

Chitika eMiniMalls is becoming a very popular advertising alternative to Google Adsense. Not only that but if you use them in their default mode you can display Chitika eMiniMalls ads and Adsense on your website or blog.

In default mode Chitika eMiniMalls serve up ads based on the keywords you enter. For example, below is a Chitika eMiniMalls ad that I created using the keywords “web hosting” and “computer”.

Ads like the one above are quickly becoming very popular. I am testing them out on some of my sites and will let you know how they fare vs. the Adsense ads. From what I understand Chitika eMiniMalls perform best on sites that are product based. However, some people have had good results with Chitika eMiniMalls on non product based sites.

Affiliate Classroom Contest

November 7, 2005

The Affiliate Classroom has just announced a big contest for it’s affiliates. There are over $19,000 dollars in prizes. If you want to try and win one of the prizes, then go sign up to be an affiliate.

You can do that by clicking here.

I am in the middle of some other things, so I am not sure how much time I will have to focus on this competition. It looks like a good promotion, so I might have to make the time. First, I have to sign up and try out their program myself to make sure it is as good as it looks. I wasn’t planning on doing that for another month or so.

Make Money Online Fast – Set a Deadline

November 3, 2005

I recently decided that one of the biggest business mistakes I have made for my online business is to create financial goals that have an end date of 2 or more years. By doing this I can procrastinate and not put all of my effort into the goal, because there is always plenty of time to reach the goal. There has been no sense of urgency to drive me.

So after thinking about it for a while I have decided to increase the amount of money that I want to being making and decrease the amount of time I want to take to complete my goal. I have not yet set the goal amount of money or the goal date for achieving this, but I have decided that it will be more than enough money to work from home full time and I will do it in less than a year.

What is interesting is that after making this decision Yanik Silver sent me an article that talks about creating deadlines for your business goals. If you are interested in learning how to make money online fast, then check out the article below…

How to Make This Year Your
Best Year Ever

By Yanik Silver

Every year I’ve been in business for myself online
has been better than the previous one. Recently, I
decided to create an “Apprentice” program (Yes, even
before Trump) and I was extremely pleased that we
had nearly 100% of my Apprentices get an online
venture up and running.

I’ve gone back and thought about their projects and how
they developed and I came to a striking conclusion that
will be worth a lot of money to you this year if you heed it.
There was one key aspect that got them off their butts and
making money and it came down to one thing…

...A Deadline!

As simple as that sounds, once a firm deadline was
established that’s when the rubber met the road and all
obstacles melted away like snow flakes in a frying pan.
I’ll give you a perfect example for one Apprentice we were
going back and forth a bit tidying up some finishing
touches on the project and trying to get it out the door.
Many times people can try to make everything too perfect
and it never gets out making money so we said we are
launching this project at the LIVE Apprentice Summit. That
was it and that was final.

The date of the Summit was getting closer and closer and I
could see this Apprentice start to sweat a bit. But I made
him make the commitment to this deadline publicly during
our group call and he couldn’t back out now.

Fast forward to the day of his launch he had multiple
obstacles that would normally have put the project on hold
get swept away but not now. With the firm deadline in place
and the opportunity for him to be embarrassed our fine
Apprentice finished his project. We hit the ‘send’ button
and he made a tidy sum from a tiny list over the weekend.
And this was just the start because his project has made
well into the five figures already. And why did it get

The deadline once again.

What’s your deadline for your first project or your next

Is it something that’s in your head? Not a good idea. It’s
pretty easy to keep moving that forward or letting other
things take precedence.

Who knows about your deadline and who’s going to hold you
to it? In some cases it’s not a good idea to share your
deadline or goal with another person, especially if they’re
the kind of negative energy vampire a lot of well-meaning
friends and family are. But if you’ve got a group of
colleagues all with the same thinking use them. This works
especially well if you don’t want to look like an “idiot”
in front of them and they are people you really respect.

I’ll tell you what works for me and maybe it’ll work for
you too.

For me, I work best when I absolutely “have to” perform.

For instance my first product on Internet marketing
might never have been made (or at least it would have taken
much longer) if I didn’t sell it before it was done. In 2000
when I first started marketing online a lot of people wanted
to know exactly what I did and how I started making money
so fast.

Well, I got my first opportunity to share my story in
Atlanta at an Internet seminar. I was extremely nervous and
my heart was beating out of my chest to go talk in front of
100 strangers. I gave my presentation and then I sold this
product (yet to be created).

I told people it would be delivered in a few weeks so they
knew it was a prepublication offer. I walked away with 10
orders at $200 bucks. All well and good except I couldn’t
charge anyone until the manual was done. Even though it was
only $2,000 (less what I had to pay the promoter)

I knew that at least people wanted this information and I
could keep selling it once I finished it. I probably had a
week or two of 3 o’clock in the morning work sessions but I
completed it and charged the cards. I was under pressure to
get the manual done because these people paid me (though I
didn’t charge them) and I owed them the material.

Since then I’ve updated my course material and it’s been
worth well into the six figures just because “I had to
do it”.

How can you set something like this up for yourself? If you
can stand the pressure – you can decide to put on a tele-
seminar. This is one of my favorite ways of creating
product by a deadline. You can do either a one-time tele-
seminar or series of tele-seminars and you get paid to
produce the product. How great is that? It doesn’t matter
if you have 1 person or 1000 people on the call because
this is forcing you to create product and perform.

Once you’ve set your deadline for anything you’ll
“magically” see certain resources fall into place. Trust
me, it’s a bit eerie but when it occurs every time you set
a firm deadline you know there’s something to it. Just the
act of making the decision sets these events into motion
for you. It’s also because what you focus on becomes your
reality. Your perception has changed. Your internal
“radar” is now attuned to resources, allies, etc that can
help you get your project completed.

Now I leave you with one more secret…Set “mini

When you’re looking at the whole task of setting up an
Internet business (or anything really) it’s easy to get
overwhelmed. But if you break everything up into small
tasks with their own deadlines you’ll be at your
destination before you know it. I promise it’ll work for
you. In fact, that’s one of the reasons I really like
Franklin planner systems (now Franklin Covey). I’ve been
using them since 1998 and that’s when I first started
making some significant changes in my life.

Actually the founder of Franklin, Hyrum Smith has a great
book called “The 10 Essential Laws of Time and Life
Management” – this should be required reading for you!

Even though I hate ad slogans (since they don’t work) this
one should become your mantra for the year – “Just Do It”.

As cliché and overused as it is – that’s all it comes down
to. Whether you’re willing to roll the dice and put
yourself out there a little. I promise whatever the worst
case scenario you’re thinking, it is far from the reality.

And if you need someone to send your deadline list to – go
ahead and email it to me. I’ll keep it confidential and
we’ll celebrate together when you reach your destination.
